TDI NITRO-GEN® Laboratory Membrane Nitrogen Generators - Need Nitrogen?

TDI's new NITRO-GEN® is a simple, cost-effective membrane nitrogen generator.  Using a specialized polymer fiber membrane technology, the generator separates and collects the nitrogen present in air and exhausts oxygen back into the atmosphere.  Coalescing and carbon filters remove impurities from the feed air and protect membrane fibers.

Clean, dry compressed air flows through two filters and then into the membrane cartridge.  The cartridge contains hundreds of hollow fibers that run along it's length to an outlet.  The oxygen in the air passes more easily through the walls of the hollow fibers than the nitrogen.  The nitrogen flows down the hollow fibers to the outlet, where it is collected and sent to the process.  The oxygen collects inside the cartridge housing and is then exhausted into the atmosphere.

The NITRO-GEN® system features adjustable nitrogen flow (SCFH) capacities based on nitrogen purity requirements (99, 98, 97%).  These nitrogen purity ranges are compatible in providing a clean / dry environment for TDI's Desiccators and Isolation Gloveboxes in most applications.

Virtually any commercial air compressor is compatible with the NITRO-GEN®, as long as it meets the compressed air supply requirement.

The compressed air entering the generator should be approximately 70°F to meet the output specification.  The generator can, however, function between 50 and 130°F if required, though the output will vary accordingly.  The dew point of compressed air supplied to the generator must be 40°F or lower.  The use of a correctly sized air dryer can ensure that the compressed air supply meets the dew point requirement.

The flow rate of the air compressor source should exceed the flow rate demand set on the NITRO-GEN® nitrogen generator, otherwise, a loss of purity and pressure will occur.  The compressor should have a minimum of 100 PSI.

** Before shipment your NITRO-GEN® is pre-tested and tuned to meet your specified nitrogen flow rate and purity.  Minimal scheduled maintenance must be performed to ensure proper performance and a long service life.
