Acrylic Material Construction for Cleanroom/ESD Applications

TDI Acrylic Desiccators provide the highest quality and most durable construction to meet the requirements for cleanroom and assembly component storage applications.  TDI desiccator storage cabinets are designed for in-line nitrogen or clean dry air (CDA) source to assure adequate gas pressures (PSI - source to cabinet) and adequate gas volume for continued humidity control operation of the desiccator.

All TDI acrylic desiccators utilize 1/4" acrylic or static dissipative acrylic, an inherently inert and clean material (non out-gassing).  Competitive brands are often constructed using less expensive 3/16" polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene or polycarbonate materials with plasticizers present, which can contaminate desiccator contents.

TDI static dissipative acrylic desiccators cannot be tribocharged when properly grounded.  Stainless steel plates in desiccators enhance grounding and protect from abrasion when desiccator floor is utilized as a shelf.

ULTRA NITRO-FLOW COMPARTMENT FLOW-THROUGH SYSTEM

All TDI acrylic and static dissipative acrylic desiccators are constructed with our Ultra Nitro-Flow compartment flow-throughs, which achieve a single pressure throughout the desiccator.  This unique design allows maximum flow in both the vertical and horizontal directions and reduces higher moisture humidity conditions between compartments.

This flow design allows for a single automatic bleeder valve per multiple compartment desiccator and eliminates the need for expensive outlet valves for each compartment, required in typical competitor desiccators.

All TDI desiccators are CNC machined to assure precision accuracy and reproducibility to TDI's design criteria.

 

Desiccator Door Design / Seal Integrity

All TDI desiccators include unique a door design for minimum door weight with maximum seal integrity and durability.

  • 1/4" Acrylic doors with bow-design stiffeners insure uniform sealing.
  • Closed cell neoprene, non out-gassing gasket material is recess mounted into CNC pre-machined slots to insure integrity in placement.
  • Spring loaded latches provide air-tight door seals.
  • Electropolished stainless steel continuous door hinge for maximum door support.

 

TDI's composite doors, gaskets, latches and hinges superior design features insure maximum air-tight sealing of our desiccators, while eliminating the need for expensive stainless steel door frames.

 

Although the doors are often the first failure point of a desiccator, TDI's composite design features have proven virtually indestructible in our 25 years of providing desiccator cabinets to our customers worldwide.

 

Typical competitive brands with thinner plastic door material, rubber gaskets mounted to the door and refrigerator style latches require heavy and expensive stainless steel door frames to achieve adequate sealing.

Removable Plenum Chamber for Uniform Nitrogen Gas Flow

The static dissipative plenum chamber includes a removable static dissipative acrylic back plenum wall for easy access and maintenance in humidity control applications.  The Nitro-SaveŽ solenoid valve is mounted in the the plenum chamber to regulate the nitrogen flow in response to the high humidity set point.
