FLOWMETERS
- GENERAL INFORMATION Flowmeters
are durable acrylic that will give long-lasting and trouble free
operation, with just a few precautions. The flowmeter is to be
used to measure air. The unit must be mounted in a vertical
position, to assure proper accuracy. When tightening the piping to
the flowmeter, the 1/8" vinyl backing plate should be removed from
the meter. This will allow access to the fittings and permits the
use of a 9/16" wrench on the hex when tightening the piping to the
1/8" FNTP threads. |
| On
start-up, open the needle valve slowly to purge any entrapped
air/gas. The flow is
read at the center of the spherical float.
Occasional cleaning may be required if
float visibility becomes hampered. Since our flow units have rod
guided floats for stability, an octagonal cleaning may be necessary if
the ball float does get stuck on this rod. Disassemble flowmeter
carefully. Clean the tapered tube with a mild liquid detergent and
a soft brush. Along with the other parts removed. Rinse all
parts with clear water only and dry thoroughly. Avoid all strong
solvents e.g. benzene, acetone, etc. Reassembly, reversing the
above disassembly procedure. A small amount of grease (halocarbon
or equivalent) on the "O" rings would help the seal, as well
as prolong the life of the "O" ring.
CAUTION:
These flowmeters are designed or use with non-hazardous gases, at
pressures up to 100 PSI and temperatures up to 65°C (150°F). Do
not exceed these limits. Use beyond these limits may cause failure
which could result in personal injury. |
