#HM40 NITRO-SAVE® HUMIDITY CONTROL MONITOR
WHEN PURCHASED WITH DESICCATOR

"The Technical Source!"

OPERATING INFORMATION
The TDI Nitro-SaveŽ Humidity Control Monitor is designed to control nitrogen flowrate to accurately lower humidity in desiccator storage cabinets.

CAUTION
The Nitro-SaveŽ Humidity Control Monitor is ONLY TO BE USED WITH THE SOLENOID FLOW CONTROL VALVE THAT IS SUPPLIED.  This valve is designed and specially wired to operate with this unit.  Use of any other device will void the 1 year warranty and may cause serious damage.

START UP
To start the Nitro-SaveŽ, plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet and then connect it to the port located on the back of the monitor.  The monitor will automatically start to measure and display the humidity readings.

NOTES

  • Use ONLY with the supplied AC adapter.
  • FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.  Contact with water or use in dusty conditions may cause damage or affect calibration.

MAIN MENU

  • Press to select the highlighted menu options.
  • Highlight and select "Done" to return to the previous menu.

VIEW SETTINGS: Displays the current high humidity set point.  This setting defines the high humidity reading allowed.  If the humidity rises above the set point, nitrogen gas will be automatically dispensed until the humidity falls below the high humidity set point.

CHANGE SETTINGS:  Allows the user to change the high humidity set points.

CHECK HIGHS/LOWS:  Displays the highest and lowest readings recorded and allows the user to clear the reading history.

INFORMATION:  Displays the model number and software version.

DONE:  Returns to the humidity display.

VIEW SETTINGS
The display will show the current settings, as follows:

---Humidity---
Hi: xx%     A     Beep

  • The current high humidity set point will be displayed next to Hi.

  • Beep indicates that the beeper will sound if the humidity reading is above the high humidity set point.

CHANGE SETTINGS
To change the high humidity set point, us the up and down arrow keys ( , ) to highlight "Set RH HIGH".  Press to proceed.  This display will show:

----RH HIGH----
Set Point: xx%
Controls: A
Audio: Yes

NOTE:  The high humidity set point is factory programmed to 20%RH, which represents general electronics requirements.  For more critical humidity control reduce the set point and for less critical humidity control increase the set point.

SET POINT:  To change the set point, use the up and down arrow keys ( , ) to highlight the "Set Point", and press .  The cursor will move to the right and highlight the current setting.  Use the up and down arrow keys to change the setting and press to save the new setting.

To clear the history, use the up and down arrow keys ( , ) to highlight CLEAR HISTORY and press .  Highlight DONE and press to return to the previous menu.

ALARM CONDITIONS
The Nitro-Save monitor automatically dispenses nitrogen gas when the humidity reading rises 1% above the high humidity set point.  If the humidity does not fall to an acceptable level (1% below the high humidity set point) within 2 hours, an alarm condition will occur.  During and alarm condition:

  • Yellow LED will flash brightly.
  • Beeper, if enabled, will beep continually.
  • Display will indicate the alarm condition and the user will have the option to CONTINUE or EDIT SET POINT.

NOTE:  To temporarily silence the beeper, press any key.

To CONTINUE, press the up arrow key ( ).  The yellow LED will continue to flash but the monitor will resume normal operation, measuring and displaying temperature and humidity.  To indicate the alarm condition, the humidity reading will be highlighted and "HIGH" will be displayed to the right of the reading.

To "Edit Set Point", press the down arrow key  ( ).  This will take you directly to the appropriate Set RH High menu.  Please refer to the Change Settings section above.
